The trip to the Rainbow Mountain was very animated and happy. William (the driver) and Roberto (the guide) were very helpful throughout the trip and guided us on time and pointed us towards the areas that were important throughout the climb. They were attentive to each member of the trip asking if everyone was ok. They were constantly asking about our health because of a possible touch with altitude sickness due to the height towards the top at 16,500 ft. at the Rainbow Mountain. The breakfast and lunch were excellent with fresh fruits, cooked vegetables, and authentic Peruvian dishes as main courses. Our guide, Roberto, would go back-and-forth among Spanish, English, and Portuguese languages to cater the needs of the nationalities in the tourist van. At the end of lunch, Roberto shared with the group about the history of the Rainbow Mountain: the importance about rescuing his Quechua culture to bring it alive to the current generation; he even taught us a few words in Quechua. He also sang a song in Quechua and played the quena, which is a native Peruvian flute.
I would highly recommend this tourist trip. It was well balanced and showed how proud they are about their heritage.
